E & S knew each other in passing for a while, but really started connecting when Ethan reached out to Sarah asking for book recommendations. He continues to say it was completely platonic, but Sarah is not so sure. They talked about books for a while, and as the subject naturally changed to school, hobbies, passions, and life stories, their connection steadily grew. After a laboriously long time (aka 2 weeks), Ethan officially asked Sarah out to coffee. They talked for over 2 hours that first day, and both left feeling like they had so much more to say. Over the next week they talked all the time and hung out almost every day, never tiring of each other or running out of things to talk about. After a few weeks of that, Ethan asked Sarah to officially be his girlfriend! A mere three days after that, Sarah tested positive for COVID; Ethan decided he wanted to quarantine with her and the two of them spent 5 days in Sarah's apartment. They played many board and card games, worked on finals, cooked, and got to know each other more and more. Then a week later, after 10 days of dating, Ethan left to do an internship in Central Oregon and long distance began for E & S. Ethan came to visit every few weeks until finally school started again and the distance was closed. They began to do life together and have had a great time - raising Ethan's puppy, participating in ministry together, and balancing school and work. They spent the holidays together, followed immediately by a trip to Hawaii! When Ethan proposed, he brought Sarah along on a day of reminiscing on their relationship: the coffee shop where they had their first date, their favorite bookstore, and going for a drive while listening to their favorite music. He ultimately got down on one knee while they were overlooking the city on the Columns at Skinner's Butte, the place where they had their second date. (Sarah repeatedly calls their second date the most romantic night of her life, and the moment when she really started to fall in love with Ethan) Of course, Sarah said yes! And now here they are, planning a wedding and writing their story for people to enjoy. E & S are so thankful for the Lord and His goodness in bringing them together. They hope you will be able to make it to their wedding and celebrate that good work of the Lord with them!
