It all started with, "What's your real name?". A question that might not go well, but on August 2nd 2019, it went better than anyone could have expected. It was a hot Friday night in Columbia, SC. Everyone was at Tin Roof, normal for a Friday night. Having never met each other before, Boykin saw Matt from across the bar. She quickly walked over and asked Matt to dance. After a few dances, Matt asked, "What's your name." Boykin, knowing that her name is unique laughed and said, "Boykin" (with a smirk). Matt didn't believe her and yet somehow, in that moment, they clicked. The rest is history.

Out on the dock at Woodcreek, Boykin's favorite place in the world, Matt was ready to make it their favorite place in the world. It was November 17th, 2021 on a cool Autumn afternoon. Matt convinced Boykin to take a stroll down to the dock where the next chapter of their lives would begin. Before getting down on a knee Matt said, "Life is not about what you fill it with, it’s about who you fill it with, and I want to fill the rest of my life with you."
