We all have heard crazy stories about online dating, but what happens when it works? We are a prime example of when online dating goes right. Alex: When Britt messaged me the first time, I'll be honest I didn't answer right away. It took a day or so to be able to respond between school and work. And shockingly enough it was more than a "hey" it was a response to one of the questions you could answer about your personality. That made an impact and I respond with some cheeky one-liner and we kicked off from there. We didn't actually meet until a month and a half later and it was the best first date of my life. There was an instant connection and from that point on we have been inseparable. Britt is the most kind, sweet, caring, and accepting partner and I honestly couldn't have gotten any luckier. Being an hour and a half away, we talked all the time through text or a phone call. I found myself even getting in trouble at work a couple of times because I just wanted that extra few minutes with her before I went in and made myself late. And even though I declared at the beginning of our relationship I wanted to take things slow and just enjoy each other, I couldn't help but find myself wanting her around more often and wanting to see her all the time. I guess when the universe is ready for you to have what you need, whether you are ready or not you are getting it. I got Britt and I am so thankful for her. Britt: Ever feel like the universe just lines things up in your favor? That was how I felt when I came across Alex's profile online. I was in a terrible place and had just gotten out of a terrible relationship and wasn't looking for anything super serious. However, if you wanna make God laugh just tell him your plans. We texted, video called, and talked on the phone for over a month, getting to know each other and I fell in love with the kindest, sweetest, and most attentive man I have ever met. When we finally got to meet up in person, he gave me butterflies as we met at a Denny's for breakfast and spent most of that breakfast laughing and enjoying each others company while he ate chicken strips with steak sauce (a combination I later learned is quite delish.) We spent the rest of that day hanging out and watching movies where I fell in love with Miss Akita and knew this was something I wanted to become very serious. Thankfully that was the first of many dates, sleepovers, road trips, and adventures, I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life on this adventure with him and am so happy that I got that *ding* of a notification the morning after I made the first move.
