Our common friend, Ate Liezel, set us up by creating a group chat on Messenger. When we were introduced and started talking to each other, she left the group. Then on my 4th year anniversary here in the US, we decided to meet and celebrate it together. On our first date, we had Ramen for lunch in Hanabi. Then we went to Lowes to look for airplants and white pots since we are both plant lovers. We got our hands dirty and sweaty by repotting the plants we bought. And a couple more dates and more plants until our love blossomed and became us. Update: the plants are still thriving and healthy.

May just got back from her trip to California. It was a Sunday; so I ask her out to go to Church. After picking her up from her Apartment I told her we are first going to pass by the house we are building. After being out of town for 2 weeks; I told her the house is already done and already has some furniture so she would really be surprise when she see’s it. (Although it was a different surprise that I had plan😉.) I had her blindfolded and assisted her getting inside the house so as not to spoil my surprise. I got help from my bestman Emmanuel, his 2 kids (Chace and Nathan) and my bro, Andrew to set up a big heart shape made of roses and the other props for my proposal. I helped May sat on a chair still blindfolded and told her that I will give her the cue when to remove the blindfold. And after playing our theme song “At my worst”; I gave her the cue and to her surprise there came out one by one Chace, Nathan, and Emmanuel each holding a flower and a placard saying “Will - You - Marry” and of course the last one to appear was “Me” holding a bouquet of flowers, a balloon engagement ring and a heart placard with “Me” on it and the most important of all the actual engagement ring on my pocket. 😄 I went down on my knees; recited my vows for her and the reason why I want to spend the rest of my life with her and ask her “Will you marry me?” After hearing her say “Yes” I immediately put the ring on her hand before she changes her mind (😂) and hugged her tightly. It was one of the happiest days of my life.
