FAQs

Hoping these questions can clear up some of the confusion; if not, feel free to contact anyone on the wedding party tab!
Question

What should I wear?

Answer

For those attending the ceremony, modest semi-formal and formal attire is requested. For men, this means collared shirts and dress pants; sports coats and ties are optional. For the ladies, this means skirts and dresses that fall at or below the knee or modest dress pants and nice blouses. For the reception, semi-formal and formal attire is appropriate. Example: cocktail dresses, floor length dresses, suits, and tuxedos. Please remember that we will be celebrating the full mass at our ceremony and to plan your attire accordingly.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We have opted for a child-free wedding ceremony and reception due to the nature of the open bar at the reception. We hope any parents can use this as an opportunity to enjoy a date night away from your children. Please keep anyone in attendance to ages 16 and up, and only those specifically addressed on the invitations, and remind any older children that they are not permitted to take part in the open bar option, per venue policy.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Reservations and regrets are needed absolutely no later than Monday, April 15th, 2024 so that we can give a final guest count to the caterer and venue. Unfortunately, we will not be able to make exceptions to this. Should you need to cancel your reservation, please inform us as soon as possible so that we can adjust the head count. RSVP through the website on the RSVP tab at the top of the page. It will allow you to enter the names of your party as they appear on your invitation. We look forward to seeing you!

Question

Can you accommodate my dietary needs?

Answer

We will have a vegetarian option for dinner and catering staff will be available to answer questions about the buffet. Additionally, we are having a fully peanut-free reception due to the sensitivities of our guests. Please reach out to anyone in the parties with any other concerns before the RSVP due date.

Question

Parking and transportation?

Answer

Ceremony: there is plenty of parking including handicap spaces at the church. Transportation between the church and reception venue is up to guests. Reception: parking is free at the main lot. Also, should you need to leave your vehicle overnight, it will be safe in the venue’s main lot until the next day. We ask that you retrieve your car sometime Saturday. Anyone needing assistance with getting between the two venues should reference the next question for detailed information.

Question

How do I get from the ceremony to the reception?

Answer

Use "985 Providence Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237" as the address for GPS directions. For additional clarity, follow these instructions: 1. Turn left out of the church parking lot onto Glenfield Rd 2. Turn right onto Mt. Nebo Rd. 3. Turn left onto Arndt Rd 4. Turn left onto Reis Run Rd 5. Continue straight onto Ingomar Heights Rd 6. Slight right onto W Ingomar Rd 7. Take the ramp onto US 19 Truck S/McKnight Rd 8. Turn left onto Cumberland Rd 9. Turn right onto Babcock Blvd 10. Turn right onto Providence Blvd 11. Park in any of the spots in the lot and continue through the front doors to the reception space! If you anticipate needing extra assistance, please reach out!

Question

Are the venues accessible?

Answer

The ceremony space has three steps leading into the church. There is a ramp entrance behind the St. Joseph Sacristy at the church; please reach out for information on accessing this entry if needed. The reception venue is fully accessible and has no stairs. We will have tables and chairs available throughout the entire evening including during cocktail hour. Please let us know as soon as possible if you need a staff member to prepare your meal from the buffet; this can be easily accommodated as long as we let them know! If you need additional assistance, the staff will be present to help with anything you could need. Please let us know if this is something you need more information about!

Question

How does the open bar work?

Answer

Our reception will have both an open bar and a free-flowing sangria fountain. Treat this how you would any bar: responsibly. If you know that you might appear as being under 21, be sure to have your ID on you as the bartender will check IDs for anyone who appears to be under the legal age. Also, as a heads up, we are not permitting any shots at the reception. This is the venue policy. We will be handling gratuity for bartenders but if you feel so inclined, you are permitted to tip on top. We want everyone to enjoy their evenings safely and responsibly. Anyone who is visibly intoxicated will be refused service and possibly asked to leave by venue staff.

Question

Is smoking allowed?

Answer

Smoking is only permitted outside of the church in the parking lot and outside of the reception hall, away from the main doors.

Question

Who should I contact with more questions?
