Question

Do I need a Visa?

Answer

A visa may be required based on your passport. For further information, please consult the Ministry of Interior's website linked below. You can apply for a visa through the same link or obtain one upon arrival for a fee of $50-60 USD. If you plan to tour around Jordan, we recommend obtaining the Jordan Pass, which serves as an all-in-one ticket to Jordan's most iconic attractions, including Petra and Wadi Rum. Those who obtain the Jordan Pass do not need to purchase an entry visa, as long as the pass is purchased before arriving in Amman. Question

Arrival into Jordan

Answer

Jordan's primary international airport is Queen Alia International Airport, which is serviced by numerous airlines with daily flights. However, layovers in countries like Turkey are common. Upon arrival, you have the option to rent a car or book an Uber.

Question

How do I get around town?

Answer

Uber and Careem are both excellent options for transportation, with trips typically taking anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes to reach your destination. Most trips using these services cost between 1.5 JDs and 5 JDs. While most drivers prefer cash, it's perfectly fine if your card is linked to your account. If you would like to arrange for a driver to stay with you for the entire trip, we can provide contact information for a few people. Their rates vary depending on whether you remain in the city or travel beyond. We can help you negotiate the rates.

Question

Communication

Answer

The primary local language is Arabic, but most people also speak English.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Dressing modestly is advised. Although the country is respectful of all religions and traditions, it is easier to feel comfortable in various situations if dressed more conservatively. Within private settings and some restaurants, there is more leeway in your wardrobe choices.

Question

Weather

Answer

As our wedding will take place during the fall, we expect great weather, historically ranging from 26 degrees Celsius during the day to 14 degrees Celsius at night. Its advised to always have a jacket or shawl on hand during the night. Having said that, this is the best weather for outdoor activities and touring around Jordan. Keep in mind that as you go further south (e.g., Petra, Wadi Rum, and Aqaba), the weather will get warmer during the day but will remain cooler at night.

Question

Currency & Payment

Answer

The local currency is the Jordanian Dinar. Most places accept cards, but for small transactions, such as paying a local driver or purchasing small items at the market, it's recommended to have a few JDs on hand.
