We met as friends while in the Social Venture Fund at the University of Michigan. Katie admired Max's sense of humor and appreciation for public policy; Max was impressed with Katie's confidence and ability to speak her mind in class. Fast forward to January of 2022, we had our first date over mezcal negronis at Nightcap in Ann Arbor and it all started to click. We went on to discover our overlapping taste in music and mutual love for concerts, bonded over our passion for cooking and eating good food, and delighted in making fun of trashy reality TV (e.g., the Ultimatum). After a summer full of travel and living together in a 300-square-foot East Village apartment, we knew it was for real. In the fall, Max returned to school in Michigan and Katie dove into work at Related in NYC. After a year of long distance, Max moved back to New York and proposed to Katie in Tompkins Square Park. Now we finally live together on the Upper West Side with our puppy, Frankie. Over this time, we've been able to spend quality time with Katie's family in New York and Max's family in California, and even got the whole crew together for a week as we explored wedding venues in Northern CA. We unexpectedly found the perfect venue 30 minutes from Max's hometown of Davis, and we can't wait to celebrate our wedding with you all out there!
