We are arriving on Wednesday, October 6th and leaving Sunday, October 10th, but as long as you're in Hawaii on the 8th, that's the only date that matters.

As far as transportation on the island, renting a car is best if you are planning to explore, but if you plan on staying in Honolulu most of the time, the cheapest and easiest way to get around is by Uber as parking is difficult and expensive near the resorts.
