After knowing vaguely of each other through high school, we finally had a class together in the last trimester of senior year. Max found it amusing to sit behind Ciara and make her laugh at every (in)opportune moment. At the time, that's as much as we knew each other before summer and heading off to college.

Over Freshman winter break, we met back up and threw a New Year's party with Ashley (a bridesmaid). While planning that, we got to know each other a bit better. When a chance came for Ciara to visit Max at school in Houghton, MI, she packed a car with 4 friends and made the trip from Duluth through a snowstorm. After that weekend we started dating and made that same trip many times throughout 4 years of long-distance. After graduation, we moved back home to start our careers closer to each other.

After approximately one eternity, Max found a ring and proposed along the beach in Galveston, TX.

Due to COVID-19, we were married during a small ceremony on 6.14.20. We postponed our reception to 9.26.21 so that we will be able to celebrate safely with all of our family and friends!
