How we met

10.3.2015

There were cheese balls involved, but not many words... Our freshman year, Max was at Mercer University and Charlie was at Wofford College 216 miles away. Through mutual friends, Charlie ended up staying at Mercer the weekend of the Wofford-Mercer football game. After the game (which Wofford won, wooooo, sorry Max), a silent, pouty Max sat across from Charlie in a friend's dorm room. As she socialized and hung out with all of their friends, Max threw cheese balls at her from across the room. Yes, cheese balls. Yes, he was a grown, college age man.

How we started "talking"

10.8.2015

Over fall break, Max posted a snapchat story with the Jacksonville, FL geotag. Charlie, having her Nana and Grampy in Jacksonville, snapchatted him! They talked and got to know each other for the whole break...no cheese balls involved this time. **Through talking to Charlie's Nana, we figured out that our grandparents (Nana and Max's Grandpa Dick) had actually known each other and worked together for years! When we were born, they would bring pictures into work and show each other us as babies. Makes this seem like fate!**

How Max proposed

5.17.18

On our way to a Jump Shrimp Baseball game (yes... the Jumbo Shrimp...) Max suggested that we stop at the Jaguars stadium to take pictures. Of course, Charlie wanted to take a picture riding the giant jaguar statue but Max said that there was a sign in front of it saying not to climb on it because a child had gotten his head stuck in the mouth. Charlie ran up to the jaguar to prove him wrong and, after proving herself right (there was no sign...but a kid really did get his head stuck...), turned around to find Max down on one knee.
