Massachusetts Street is the heart of Lawrence, Kansas. Shopping, dining and drinking — you can find it all! Some of Maureen's favorite spots to shop include Ruff House Print Shop, Jungle House, Goldmakers (where her engagement ring is from!) and Lucky Dog Pet Grocery and Bakery. Will recommends Game Nut for all your board game needs!
One of our favorite spots for brunch or lunch in Lawrence. If you're in town for the weekend and need a good bite of food before the wedding, we cannot recommend Merchants enough!
The original craft brewery in Kansas! Free State has great beers on tap and is located right on Massachusetts St. (are you catching on to a trend here?). If you go, we recommend some onion rings to go with the beer(s).
If you're hanging out downtown and want to catch an independent movie, Liberty Hall is your spot. Whether it's a Friday evening flick or a Saturday matinee before our big event, their big and little theaters have just what you need (and delicious fresh popcorn)!
Lawrence Beer Company's east location (the original spot) is right next to our wedding venue, Cider Gallery. A great spot to stop pre-ceremony for some drinks and pretzel bites.
The birthplace of basketball! As diehard KU basketball fans, we highly recommend a visit to the historic Allen Fieldhouse while you're in town. There's a lovely little museum of KU basketball history and you can see the original rules.
Lots of walking/hiking trails and even biking paths throughout this state park. They even have a fabulous off-leash dog park, which Jasper highly recommends to any and all four-legged friends.
