Matt and Megan met very soon into freshman year at North Park University. They were introduced by a mutual friend and quickly became interested in getting to know the other more. Unfortunately, Megan was dating someone else at the time, but that didn't stop Matt from telling her how he felt. By winter break, Megan was single again and had told herself she was going to "focus on school". And yet, as soon as they both returned to Chicago for the spring term, they were quickly developing feelings for each other. They saw each other every day, and then Matt made a move. Megan was an idiot and rejected him. Luckily, Matt saw right through her and knew how she felt. Some days later, he asked her to be his girlfriend like a real gentleman, and their official story began in January of 2021! They survived 3 months of long distance after only 3 months together, and have only fallen more in love as time goes on. The bond to each other's families was quick and easy, and 2 years of dating flew by. On their spring break trip of 2023, Matt was planning something wonderful. They spent the first half of the week in Seattle with their gospel choir, then traveled to Estes Park in Colorado for some time in the mountains. With their two best friends there, David and Tre, Matt pulled off the most romantic proposal of all time. Megan couldn't contain her sobs of joy and she managed to get out a "YES!". They have been planning their wedding since that day on March 17th. Flash forward to now, they recently found their first home together in an apartment in Rogers Park, Chicago. They are dog parents to their Aussie, Raya. Their plan is to stay in Chicago while Megan obtains her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University. After that, only God knows!
