Despite Matt and Maddy’s ties to Seattle, it was a mutual friend, a double date, and an old school, dive bar/chowder shack in Boston that led to them meeting four years ago this wedding weekend. Matt told Maddy he wanted to learn more about “the city” (Maddy) and she decided to help him out (will do anything for a fellow PNW’er!). The rest is history! Their first trip to Palm Springs together was in February 2022.  Matt thought a quiet, relaxing weekend was in store until Maddy blindfolded him and drove them to a house where 30 of his friends were waiting to celebrate his 30th birthday (fun was had, but definitely not the “quiet and relaxing” kind). Palm Springs has been a special place for both Matt and Maddy’s families.  From Maddy’s family enjoying holidays and school vacations in La Quinta to Matt and Carly’s cherished memories by the pool in Palm Springs. In May of 2023, Matt took Maddy to Counter Reformation, the small, hidden wine bar at the Parker.  After drinks they wandered through the Parker’s grounds. While getting lost in the maze of pathways at night, they had no idea that they may come back one day… We can’t wait to share one of our favorite places with you.
