Our Love Story

When I first met Kelsey, it was at our good friend James Vanderbeek's high school musical-themed birthday bash. At first, it wasn't much of a love-at-first-sight for her, but you know me and my charm. After seven or eight shots, she was digging me... big time. We started chatting about love, life, fine arts when we realized we really didn't have much in common outside of ridiculous physical attraction! Ha ha! We spent the night drinking fine wines and running up my tab. It was like your typical rom-com, but it didn't end the way you think. As Kelsey smooched me and walked out of my life. Three long, unbearable years later, I was invited to a Labor Day party at her house (not by her). I walked in, and there she was. I couldn't believe it was her. It was a dream. She was just like I remembered her – a delicately beautiful face and a body that can melt a cheese sandwich from across the room. She's the kind of woman that makes you want to drop down on your knees and thank God you're a man. I knew it was my time to finally put down my moves and the rest is history. OK, so if you didn't catch on there, I'm pretty sure Matt took that from a Leslie Nielsen movie. So let me tell you what really happened. Me and some girlfriends went to a mutual friend's birthday party and not really knowing anyone there, I bellied up to the bar next to a couple of guys that looked approachable. As I started to hang out and talk with Matt, I soon realized, "Hey, this guy is fun and easy to talk to." The party kept going, so we all went back to a friend's place. Matt, being the charmer he is, he got me and all the ladies there with him in the corner bar. I was really putting my moves on him – flirting, touching his shoulder, laughing at his jokes. You'd think he'd make a move, but nothing. So, I kissed him and peaced out. A couple of years later, on a summer afternoon in Chicago, we are on our mutual friend's boat, drinks are flowing, we are having a great time, but still, Matt couldn't muster up the courage to make a move on me, even though I was in a bikini. So again, we parted ways. Fast-forward another few months, we're having a Labor Day party, we are grilling, making cocktails, and here Matt walks into my kitchen, in a full Nike get-up from head to toe. Instantly, I thought to myself, "I have hung out and seen this guy multiple times, and he has made zero moves on me." I've got a crack this code. Matt finally pulled me close to him as we talked and laughed the whole night away. Whatever he said that night won me over as he finally made his move, and the rest is history. In all seriousness we have built a beautiful life together, we put each other first, make spending time with each other a priority, and we are always having fun together, We are always the loudest people in the room. Kelsey is funny as hell, smart, loving and always the life of the party! While our differences balance us out as partners, we have a ton of things in common. We both come from huge ridiculous families, both have wild groups of friends, and younger annoying sisters...KIDDING! We are a great team that backs each other up to no extent. We are very much looking forward to building our future together. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our story, we look forward to celebrating our love with all of you at our beach wedding in Mexico! Love Matt & Kelsey
