Matthew and Christina met on the dance floor at a local club in Fayetteville, NC in 2011. Matthew saw Christina shaking her groove thang and couldn't resist joining her. Before they left the spot, Christina and Matthew exchanged phone numbers and began to date for a few weeks before things cooled and they went their separate ways. They continued to live their own lives and in 2013, Matthew moved back to Florida and Christina moved to Maryland. Matthew began working in sales and traveled all over the US. In 2018, Matthew traveled to Frederick, MD for a job assignment and was asked to oversee the registration of guests. Coincidently, Christina took a lunch break from work with her then-supervisor and together they attended the same event where Matthew was working and it landed her back in front of Matthew. It was then; that they decided to date again and the rest is now history.

Matthew and Christina planned a trip to Hawaii and wanted to ensure that they brought the women closest to their hearts. There was so much preparation done to ensure that this trip was a success including securing flights, a car rental, housing accommodations, excursions, and a meticulously planned photo shoot by Matthew. Everyone was excited about the trip for more reasons than one, to Christina's surprise. The schedule was filled with different things to do throughout the week and the photo shoot was on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. It was on this day everyone dressed up, met the photographer at the beach, and began to take photos in various locations around the beach. It was there that the photographer asked Christina to face the water for one of the shots and she instructed Christina's mother to slowly spin her around. To Christina's surprise, she found Matthew on his knee with a beautiful red box in his hand with thee perfect engagement ring. Christina was in disbelief and in awe and said "Yes," to Matthew's proposal. What was supposed to be just another relaxing, fun, and eventful vacation with our daughter, Tirzah, and our mothers; later turned into a proposal that shifted the trajectory of all of our lives.
