Bride
Maid of Honor
Luba and Vicki go way back like carseats. They met as freshman in college not on campus but through work. They immediately bonded over a mutual love of tea and arthouse japanese cinema. Vicki, being a shy introvert, and Luba being a boisterous extrovert, they clicked and Luba proclaimed them friends to which Vicki quietly replied "ok," and the rest is history. Luba and Matt met through Vicki and are both honored to have her beside them on this special occasion.
Maid of Honor
Maddie and Luba met in high school during their freshman year in English class. Maddie and Luba have enjoyed many adventures together throughout the years including joining orchestra, travelling to Scotland with aforementioned orchestra, complaining about having to go to orchestra, and asking their Asian friends for help with orchestra. But seriously, Luba and Maddie played ice hockey together, learned to drive together, and spent the majority of their sophomore year at each other's houses. The mother of the bride recalls fondly hearing their raucous laughter from Luba's bedroom. Throughout it all Maddie has always had Luba's back and vice versa.
Bridesmaid
Sami and Luba met through Vicki their freshman year of college. Sami was the glue that bound the friend group together. Sami met Matt in freshman orientation and was roommates with Vicki. It was only natural that her path would cross Luba's and they bonded over 19th century literature and their secret love of making fun of hipster culture while also exemplifying and embracing it.
Bridesman
Luba met Joe their freshman year of college and did not get along in the slightest. However over time both began to admire the other's quick wit and self depreciating sense of humor. By which I mean Joe has a self depreciating sense of humor and doesn't seem bothered by the fact that Luba constantly teases him about it. Joe and Luba have always been emotionally there for one another through the turbulent toils of young adulthood. They have forged a deep bond that they carry with them no matter the physical distance. Luba is thrilled to have Joe as a bridesman on her special day.
Bridesmaid
Ali is Vicki's older sister and while her relationship to Luba is not as long as some it is equally deep. Luba grew up as an only child and having a strong independent spirit it was difficult to find a mentor figure. Luba met Ali and immediately fell in love with her equally strong and independent spirit. A self made artist living in Chicago, Ali was the epitome of what Luba aspired to be. Throughout the years through Vicki, Luba had the honor of getting to know Ali on a deeper level and shared many uproarious laughs and deep heartfelt advice. I admire Ali and am beyond humbled that she agreed to stand next to me on my wedding day
Groom
Best Man
Alex and Matt have been friends since Elementary school days, growing up together and staying friends throughout college where they roomed together. While growing up Alex, Travis, and Matt were an inseperable trio and could be found throughout their neighborhood causing trouble. Together they have gone all across Michigan, from palm to thumb to fingertip, and even up into the UP during a few camping trips. We are honored to have him as one of our Best Men and as a best friend going forward.
Best Man
Travis was one of the first people Matt got close to when he first moved to Michigan in his early Elementary school days. They instantly became best friends and Matt was quickly introduced to Travis's other best friend, Alex. 16 years later and all three are still best of friends. All three have always bonded over a shared love of video games, the outdoors, and (when they were little) wacking each other with the biggest sticks they could find. We are honored to have him as one of our Best Men and as a best friend going forward.
Groomsman
Nick, Matt's younger brother, is a recent high school grad and is in his first year at Oakland University for accounting. Nick, along with Matt and their mother Ann, has always been an avid reader. He has always consumed books at a speed that left Matt in the dust. Nick has always had a passion for art. From sketches to paint to playing trumpet, Nick has gone through several iterations of creating art and has recently set of on his latest conquest: baking. We are honored to have Nick as one of our groomsmen, and excited to see what delicious things he bakes.
Groomsman
Mike, Matt's youngest brother, is currently a Junior in high school and when he graduates he plans to enter the engineering field. Mike and Matt have always had a common love of video games, from a young age they could be found going head to head with their dad Mark in Halo. Some say he is still a little salty about never beating Matt. Together, Matt and Mike worked together to build Mike his first gaming computer and to jump-start his passion into computer gaming. We are honored to have Mike with us as one of our groomsmen.
Groomsman
Dan and Matt have been fantastic friends since Junior year of high school where they could be found cracking jokes at the lunch table and creating a huge mess that they would be forced to clean up. Dan and Matt stayed close throughout their college days where they would drink too much coffee, study late into the night, and play video games even later. We are honored to have Dan with us as one of our groomsmen.
Usher
Justin has been a valued friend of ours since we first met him at Oakland University. Throughout that time, he has proven himself to be a wonderful person and a valued friend. We are honored to have him be an Usher at our wedding.
