We first met in the summer of 2019 at a community group through the church we both attend, Church of the City. In the summer of 2020, we started spending quite a bit of time speaking on the phone and over Facetime about all things Arkansas, Illinois, living at home,  crossword puzzles, etc. In the summer of 2021, when we both had moved back to the city, Matt asked Laura Leigh out on a date, finally! After spending an evening in Hells Kitchen together over dinner and eating pie out over the Hudson River on Pier 76, it was clear that we had something. After more dates, concerts, cooking, travel and more, we fell in love and Matt proposed to Laura Leigh on September 17 in Sutton Park along the East River in Manhattan! We're so excited to get married in July and begin our lives together in New York.
