Flight
- SeaTac Airport (SEA) in Seattle-Tacoma: will be the best airport with the most direct flights for majority of folks. - Paine Field (PAE) in Everett: has direct flights to many cities out west (Los Angeles, San Diego, Palm Springs, Vegas, San Francisco, etc). Very nice airport, same distance to Woodinville as SeaTac, less crowded, but slightly more expensive - Portland (PDX) and Vancouver Canada (YVR) are both about a 2.5 - 3 hour drive from Woodinville. It is a very scenic drive through the Pacific Northwest with many things to see/do!
Rental Car
- Rental cars are available at all the airports. Avis tends to be the most affordable. If you are interested in exploring Seattle, the Cascades, islands, Mt. Rainier, Olympic National Park, Mt. St Helens, etc., we recommend having a rental car or carpool - Ubers/Lyfts are very common throughout the county. They are can be fairly expensive around Seattle (~$85 is typical from SeaTac to Woodinville one-way). Taxis also are on standby at SeaTac and are a bit less expensive - Public Transit does exist, but has some limitations. There are two main metro rail lines: one on the west side (SeaTac to Downtown Seattle) and one on the east side (Bellevue, about 3 miles from where the wedding occurs); unfortunately the two aren't connected.
House Or Rental
There are several hotel and AirBnB options on both west side and east side. Westside (Seattle proper) will be a good option if you are interested in exploring Downtown Seattle and the Puget Sound (Space Needle, Pike Market, sporting events, Chihuly Glass, Ferry terminal/island hopping). Eastside is a good option for more outdoors (hiking/fishing in the Cascades, parks along Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish, state parks, berry picking, several long distance running and biking trails, etc). Eastside is also where the wedding will occur. Eastside includes Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Issaquah, and Woodinville There are a couple bridges between Eastside and Westside so you will have easy access to all no matter where you stay! I-90 is free, the 520 bridge does have a toll
