Glo and Matt, a match made in app heaven? It was the middle of the Covid-19 outbreak and we both had just about enough of online dating, but just when we were about to put down our phones we found one another. "If you like Latinas" was the tagline Glo used to lure Matt in...and once on deck, Matt was ferociously interrogated :) up until the point in which he began questioning if a first date was ever going to happen. "What are your intentions?" asked Glo. Matt responded, "to take you out for coffee?" And with that honesty, Matt won the first date... It was a cold January evening when we had our first date in the West Village (Glo was 30 minutes late due to a zoom family meeting. Thanks, Javi for getting her out of that one!). The night flew by and before you knew it the restaurant was closing while Glo was pleading to Matt to stop putting Rosa (Matt’s puppy) in her crate for house training. However, first dates don't always have the happiest of endings and on deciding to take the subway home to each other’s apartments Matt made the mistake of not walking Glo home (to not seem overly aggressive but failing to meet Glo’s standards)... Matt took this as a challenge to demonstrate his chivalry, winning himself a second date the next day for coffee and a freezing stroll through the Mall and Literary Walk at Central Park. It was very cold on that January day, but our fast-beating hearts (and some coffee) kept us warm. From that moment on, we haven't skipped a beat and we've been able to make New York our home. Despite conflicting life schedules, never ending medical training and the pandemic we have been very fortunate to cherish many memories and adventures with our loved ones (the De Felice’s and The Contri’s) but more importantly our feelings grew stronger each day from when we first met, blossoming into genuine love. Matt was ready to pop the question and brought Glo to explore his beloved Long Island for a romantic weekend, while overseeing its beautiful Long Island Sound at the edge of a cliff at Kontokosta, he started telling Glo how much and why he loves her, but she interrupted (almost ruining the surprise) to say “Amor, I told you ‘yes’ a long time ago” to then find Matt kneel on one knee and respond, “would you say ‘yes’ to me one more time?”... Glo closed the ring box and jumped up to hug Matt…of course, this was her yes! Kudos to Dan for being the sneakiest cameraman! We are very happy to host you all for our wedding day, right in the middle of world, at the top of the Andes, in Glo’s hometown, Quito, Ecuador!

Si alguien nos hubiera dicho que ibamos a encontrar al amor de nuestras vida online, no lo hubieramos creído. En el medio de una pandemia y cansados de citas a ciegas, a punto de borrar las aplicaciones, nos encontramos. "Si te gustan las latinas" fue el lema de enganche que Glo usó para atraer a Matt ... y una vez dado el primer paso, Matt fue ferozmente interrogado :) hasta el punto en el que se cuestionó a sí mismo si alguna vez iba a tener una primera cita. "¿Cuáles son tus intenciones?", preguntó Glo. Matt respondió, "¿Invitarte un café?" Y con esa honestidad, Matt consiguió una primera cita... Era una fría tarde de enero cuando nos conocimos en West Village (Glo llegó 30 minutos tarde debido a una reunión familiar por zoom. ¡Gracias, Javi por sacarla de esa!). La noche pasó volando y antes de que nos dieramos cuenta, el restaurante estaba cerrando mientras Glo le rogaba a Matt que dejara de poner a Rosa (el cachorro de Matt) en su jaula de entrenamiento. Sin embargo, las primeras citas no siempre tienen el final más feliz y al decidir tomar el metro en dirección a nuestras respectivas casas, Matt cometió el error de no acompanar a Glo a casa (para no parecer demasiado entrometido pero lamentablemente incumpliendo con los estándares de Glo)... Matt tomó esto como un desafío para demostrar su caballerosidad, ganándose una segunda cita al día siguiente para tomar un café y dar un paseo por el “Mall and Literary Walk” en Central Park. Hacía mucho frío, pero nuestros corazones que latían rápidamente (y un poco de café) nos mantuvieron calientes. A partir de ese momento, no hemos perdido el ritmo y hemos podido hacer de Nueva York nuestro hogar. A pesar de los horarios conflictivos, la interminable formación médica y la pandemia, hemos sido muy afortunados de crear muchos recuerdos y aventuras con nuestros seres queridos (los De Felice y los Contri), pero lo más importante es que nuestros sentimientos se fortalecieron cada día desde que nos conocimos, floreciendo en un amor genuino. Matt, una vez listo para hacer la famosa pregunta, llevó a Glo a explorar su amada Long Island en un fin de semana romántico, mientras miraban el hermoso estrecho de Long Island al borde de un acantilado en Kontokosta, Matt comenzó a decirle a Glo cuánto y por qué la ama, pero ella interrumpió (casi arruinando la sorpresa) para decir "Amor, yo te dije que 'sí' hace mucho tiempo", en ese momento Matt se arrodillo diciendo: "¿Me dirías 'sí' una vez más?"... Glo cerró la caja del anillo y saltó para abrazar a Matt... Por supuesto, ese fue su ¡Sí! ¡Felicitaciones a Dan por ser el camarógrafo más sigiloso y oportuno! Estamos muy contentos de recibirlos a todos para celebrar juntos nuestra boda, en la mitad del mundo, en la cima de los Andes, la ciudad de Glo, Quito, Ecuador.
