We're getting married!

Matt had recently moved to Minneapolis and was out with friends at Gastofs during Octoberfest 2013. Ali went with friends Kirstin and Kale to meet up with some of Kale's college friends at Gastofs. It turns out they were all the same friends! When Matt saw Ali across the crowd, he knew he had to talk to her. They ended up talking for most of the night and even shared a dance or two. Matt got Ali's number and the rest is history!

While in Duluth for a little weekend getaway, Matt and Ali went to Park Point to walk the beach. There had been quite a storm the day before, so the lake was still pretty whipped up. As Ali walked over the sand dune toward the water, she noticed that Matt had stopped behind her. When she turned around, he got down on one knee.
