Sara and I first met while we were on our missions in Budapest, Hungary. We never got to know each other there, but I admired her from a distance. She was (and still is) one of the most committed missionaries I’ve ever seen. Not long after I arrived home and flew out to Utah for school, I woke up one morning with the thought that I should see what Sara was up to. I was too nervous to act on it. Besides, I had other plans to go on a hike in Bell’s Canyon that evening. I remember telling myself, “if it’s meant to be, I’ll just run into her.” That same evening, as I was nearing the top of Bell’s Canyon, I rounded a corner and, with no warning or explanation, found myself face-to-face with Sara Frandsen. She had stopped for a break and stood there as if she was waiting for me. I didn’t need to be nudged twice and I asked her out that night :)
