finally.

We were good friends and nothing else for years. Many Wal Mart shopping trips. Setting each other up on dates. Date dashes. Study parties. Mario Kart. The Dunes with friends. Summer Sessions. Dating advice. Movies and soup when the other was sick. Deep life chats after the bars under the stars. And then one night Mat allegedly tried to make a move and was met with ... a hug instead. Some time goes by (no one really remembers how long) and our friendship turned into something more. We officially started dating 10/19/12 after Mat bought me a fake Christmas Tree and took me to Black Cypress. A couple of glasses of wine and a nervous Mat later... we were officially a couple! 10 years later, Mat got down on one knee in front of family and held back tears (and words) while I said "Yes!" The past decade hasn't always been easy. We've lost loved ones, went back to school a few times, changed careers, and found ourselves while somehow staying together. All of this has led to a solid foundation and lots of people saying "f*cking finally." Which is why it's time we celebrate the past decade and all that's to come in the years ahead.
