Question

Will I be able to drive in the UK?

Answer

Yes! Please note that UK drivers drive on the right side of the car and the left side of the road. If you will be renting a car you should also consider that you will likely receive a manual car unless you request an automatic. Even if you are comfortable driving a manual you should keep in mind that the gear shift will be on the opposite side.

Question

Will I need an adapter for the outlets?

Answer

Yes! Please note that UK outlets differ from the US and you will need an adapter if you wish to use your usual plugs.

Question

Is Uber available in Scotland?

Answer

Yes! Taxis also operate as ubers so don't be surprised if you order an uber through the app and a taxi shows up.

Question

Can guests stay in the castle?

Answer

There are limited rooms available in the castle and information on staying in the castle on the night of 10/10/2020 will be available in 2020.

Question

What currency is used in Scotland?

Answer

The GBP (Pound). You can exchange USD for GBP in the airport and other various locations or pay by credit card. Note that some credit cards do charge a fee for foreign transactions.

Question

Will I be within short travel distance to see Ireland or London after the festivities?

Answer

Yes! A flight out of Edinburgh to Dublin is about an hour long while a flight to London is roughly an hour and a half. Another option to consider is travel by train!

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Of course! Please note any allergies on your RSVP.

Question

I like a specific kind of booze. Can I bring my own bottles to the venue for the reception?

Question

I'm staying in the castle. When is check-in and check-out?

Answer

Overnight guests can arrive and check in to the Castle at 12 noon on 10/10/2020. Dundas Duty Manager will assist with luggage and show guests to their rooms.
