Pensacola is home to one of the most beautiful beaches in Florida! We highly recommend spending a few hours on the pristine white sand beaches of the Emerald Coast. Pensacola Beach is free and open to the public. There's also a boardwalk with shops and restaurants to explore! Fun fact: There is a daily, free trolley from downtown Pensacola to Pensacola Beach in the summertime. The trolley schedule is available on the website link below.
Looking for a true local experience the morning of the wedding? Wander through this local farmer's market for everything from fresh local produce and baked goods to hand-made ceramics and art. Palafox Market is open in two locations on Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Palafox Market North is located at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza (121 N Palafox Street) and Palafox Market South is located at Plaza Ferdinand VII (309 S Palafox Street). Fun fact: Palafox Market was named Florida's Best Farmer's Market by Southern Living Magazine!
We love to explore local art whenever we travel! We recommend checking out the Pensacola Museum of Art, located in walkable downtown Pensacola. The Pensacola Museum of Art features modern and contemporary art from the 19th century onward, as well as rotating and traveling exhibitions. Fun fact: The museum building was formerly a jail, which made it the perfect structure for an art museum because it was already fireproof and extremely secure! The PMA is a fully women-founded institution.
No trip to the Florida is complete without a day-trip to Seaside, one of our favorite small towns along the 30A scenic highway. We recommend taking the drive along 30A from Pensacola to Seaside and enjoying the view of the Emerald Coast. Seaside is very pedestrian-friendly; it's the perfect place to walk around and admire all the picturesque beach homes. Fun fact: Seaside is where The Truman Show was filmed!
Did you know Pensacola has a Minor League Baseball Team? We recommend catching a MiLB home game while you're in town. Tickets are pretty inexpensive, and the Blue Wahoos shoot off fireworks at the end of home games. Fun fact: The Blue Wahoos are owned by the same company that owns our wedding venue. We're keeping our fingers crossed they'll be at home on 5/10 so we can celebrate under a fireworks display!
Located on Pensacola Bay, Atlas Oyster House has gorgeous views of the Pensacola Bay Bridge. We recommend their extensive list of craft beers from the local 30A area! We don't have a fun fact for this place, but their fresh seafood tower is Lulu's mom's favorite.
