WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!

In 2014, Mary and Matt both moved to Fayetteville, AR as they began their freshman year at the University of Arkansas. During their first year of school, the two lived in the same dorm and shared a class, leading to their worlds circling. While they were familiar faces to each other, it was not until their sophomore year that the pair began to interact. In their second year at the University, Matt hosted a show at the school’s radio station. Mary found the show and the two became friends as they found excuses to not-so-covertly flirt with each other through the show. On May 6, 2016, 7 years prior to our wedding date, Mary and Matt exchanged phone numbers for the first time, a moment that was memorialized by a voicemail and a picture on a disposable camera. The next few months consisted of concerts, parties, and a summer road trip to Dallas. As they became closer, it was obvious they were more than just friends. As their junior year started, Matt needed a co-host for the radio show, and Mary volunteered to help. A few months and many shows later, the two were spending every day together. On October 15th 2016, the new couple decided to date, committing to stay together long distance throughout Mary’s semester of school in Argentina. Despite the 4 months she had planned to be away being the same amount of time the two had been dating, they knew they could make it work. The two survived by way of embarrassingly long facetime calls and making each other weekly custom Spotify playlists. When Mary returned from her adventure abroad, the young couple knew they would be able to make it through anything. In 2022, Mary and Matt visited Seattle, WA, where they became engaged. The moment was captured by a photo booth in Pike Place Market. Over the years, Mary and Matt have graduated college together (including Mary graduating law school!), moved in together, adopted another sweet pup, moved to the beautiful city of Kansas City, and have molded their own little place in the world together. The couple would like to thank our families and friends. The love and support we have felt has been incredible, and we look forward to celebrating our love with you all!
