Welcome to the wedding website of Mary Elizabeth Brennan and Cory Bryant. We are so glad you found our website and can't wait to celebrate with you!
Mary Elizabeth and I met in a 10th grade English class. I remember thinking to myself, this was the loudest girl I had ever met. Fast forward to my senior year of high school I think I asked her to come to every baseball game that we played and she came to all of one. Even though she was never at the game she became one of my best friends that year. I think everyone knew that I had a crush on her but I was too scared to ask her out. Right before we went off to college we decided to try to make the long-distance relationship work. I’m not sure if either of us really thought it would, but look at us now. So she went to Clemson and I stayed in Aiken to play baseball at USCA. We would see each other on the weekends that we could and talk just about every night. This went on for our four years of college, and then two more. By this time, I had known for a while that she was the girl I wanted to marry. So, in February on 2019 I finally popped the question. I reserved a place in Charleston to ask her, but it was a little tricky considering I did not actually live there. So I planned a trip to Ashville for the weekend and drove to Charleston on Thursday after work. She went to work Friday morning and as far as I knew she had no clue that I was going to ask her that night. So when she got back to her apartment there was a note telling her to wear her best dress and do exactly as her friend tells her. Her friend drove her to the plantation where she was blindfolded and walked out to me under some trees. I took the blindfold off and tried to give some sappy speech, but we all know that was not going to go over well. I was about to pop the question and she says, “ I think you’re supposed to get on a knee.” I said, “ I’m getting there relax! But that’s why I love her. But I finally asked her to marry me and she said YES!
Cory and I met our sophomore year of high school. He sat behind me in class and I would always get in trouble for talking to him … and everyone else in the classroom. During this class he stole one of my favorite bracelets and lost it. He later replaced it with an I <3 Cory bracelet, and that is where it all began. We became friends and stayed “just friends” throughout all of high school, even though I knew he had a huge crush on me all senior year. The summer before we want off to college we began hanging out a lot, as friends of course. That lasted until his very first visit to me at Clemson. After leaving he immediately called me and said that he wasn’t ok with being just friends. I freaked out and told him that I wanted him to be my boyfriend. This started our “official” relationship and we made it work throughout all four years of college. After graduation I moved to Charleston and Cory moved back to Aiken. I loved living in Charleston but we were both tired of doing long distance. So I filled my Pinterest page with engagement rings and kept dropping not so subtle hints. In February 2019 Cory finally popped the question. I got home from work and there was a note saying put on your best dress and don’t ask questions. My friend Kaycee picked me up and took me to the most beautiful plantation in Charleston. I don’t think I even let Cory get through his speech before I told him to get down on his knee so I could hurry up and say yes!
