Suggestions:
Taylor’s Creek - take a ferry to see dolphins and wild horses on Carrot Island or Shackleford Banks, rent a kayak, ride bikes through neighborhoods, or take a sunset catamaran cruise (Friday night)
Downtown Beaufort - Historic sites. The Beaufort Waterfront is usually bustling with activity, and you can’t go wrong with any of the food choices (our favorites are MOONRAKERS, Mezcalito, Clawsons, Still Water, Beaufort Grocery, Turner Street Market (lunch), and Finz). 
Looking for pizza? There's No Name Pizza (and if you’re looking for delivery/late night - Domino’s also delivers!). 
Morehead City also has a lovely array of waterfront restaurants you can’t go wrong with either (Snapperz, Jack’s, Sanitary, Red Fish).
Atlantic Beach: Drive over the bridge for a quick 15 min. drive through Morehead City and take a dip in the ocean. There is a public beach access.
