This drive is gorgeous and one of our favorite things to do. Some of the more walkable beaches include Pescadero State Beach, Miramar Beach, and Pomponio State Beach. If you want to take a longer walk, we recommend going to Cowell Ranch State Beach.
Muir Woods National Monument
This is right over the Golden Gate Bridge and close to the Bay Area. They also have tours that go from the city, to Muir woods and then wine country! If you want to see the redwoods and stay close, this is the place to go.
China Beach, San Francisco
You can view the Golden Gate Bridge from this location!
El Charrito
We love this location for fantastic Mexican food.
Moss Beach Distillery
This restaurant has a beautiful view of the ocean off of Rt 1. Great place for drinks outside on the patio, too! Perfect place to stop for a bite if you're planning on driving route 1.
