There are also other activities to do here such as zip-lining. You may need to make reservations for that, though. I couldn't find the whole list of activities on their website, so I'd recommend calling them to get a full list.
This is attached to The Estate at Independence, and Conor and I love coming here after work for dinner and drinks. I definitely recommend it if you are looking to pregame since it's located yards from the ceremony.
The Hyatt House is located at the mall here and is bursting with restaurants and shopping.
This is one of my favorite areas of town. It has tons of locally owned shops and restaurants along with a really cool vibe. Most of the parking is on-street, but once you park, you can walk just about anywhere in that area. If you drive into this area, there are a lot of one-way streets, so please pay attention.
This place is really cool. It's in the Museum District, so you can walk to a lot of restaurants and shops before/after the visit.
This humongous park is really beautiful and has tons of gardens. I highly suggest looking it up and making a trip to see it.
This is a popular local spot. It's made up of a bunch of trails and tiny beaches along the James River. Conor and I love taking the dogs here for little hikes.
This another popular spot for locals. It's an island on the James River in the middle of downtown Richmond. A lot of people walk on the trails or sunbath on the big rocks by the river. To get to it, you park in the lot designated for the island and then take a walking bridge over to it.
If you like breweries, I highly suggest visiting Scott's Addition. It's a neighborhood close to the Fan with tons of these things that are all walking distance to each other. I also suggest visiting Hardywood Brewery. There is one in the city behind the baseball diamond and a second location at West Creek which is off of 288 (en route from Hyatt house to the wedding venue).
It's a pretty outdoor mall if you are looking for more shopping areas.
