Jacquelyn and Anthony first met in 2009. They met in the sixth grade, at Silver Trail Middle School. They were friends, had one or two classes together, but that was all. Jacquelyn transferred to Nativity Catholic school shortly after the sixth grade. And while they ran into each other once, they never saw each other or spoke again for 2 years. It was time for high school and they were both enrolled at Archbishop McCarthy High School. Anthony says that Jacquelyn was excited when she saw him again, screamed his name, and ran to him. However, Jacquelyn says she doesn’t remember it that way, so she says. Who should you believe? Since the age of fifteen, Jacquelyn and Anthony have been inseparable. Their first date was at a yearly carnival hosted at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School. Jacquelyn and her high school best friend, Jessica, attended together where she met up with Anthony. Who would have thought those two fifteen-year-olds back in 2012 would be twenty-six today, planning their wedding and a continued life and future together.

Jacquelyn and Anthony got engaged on August 6, 2022. Anthony proposed at Horseshoe Bend in Page, Arizona. Horseshoe Bend is a horseshoe shaped incised meander of the Colorado River located inside Glen Canyon National Park. Anthony proposed at Horseshoe bend since just two hours south, is the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon has significant meaning; it was Anthony’s father, Andre Martinez’, favorite wonder of the world. Prior to the proposal, Jacquelyn and Anthony stopped at the Grand Canyon. Little did Jacquelyn know that they would be honoring Andre’s memory right before a huge moment in both of their lives. Needless to say, Arizona and its canyons will forever hold a special place in their lives! We are so excited for you to join us at our wedding ceremony and reception this August in Temecula, California.
