The reason we chose an all-inclusive is because it ends up being much more affordable than paying for everything separate. Your trip may seem expensive to start, but remember you won't have to pay anything once you get there! You can eat and drink as much as you want. Yes, that means you can order more than one thing at dinners and try all of the food you would like.
The only restaurant that you need a dinner reservation for is the hibachi. I would recommend going to the concierge once you check in and get your reservation. This restaurant goes quick with reservations. All of the other restaurants are first come first serve. I would recommend going to dinner by 5pm or after 7pm if you don’t want a wait. You may have to wait for seats and if that’s the case, I would recommend going to one of the bars or coffee shop to snack once you put your name in! Our favorites restaurants were the Hibachi, French (adults only and was so so good), sushi.
Cabo is generally a safe place to visit. Billy and Kelsey both have been to Cabo multiple times and never ever felt unsafe. If you hear Mexico and immediately think Cartel or see articles with some scary things going on in Mexico, just remember that Cabo is a state in Mexico. So just because something is happening in one part of Mexico, does not mean that it is going to happen in Cabo. Just like if something bad is happening in Chicago, it doesn't mean its happening in Orlando etc. Of course there are still some safety precautions to take traveling to a different country, and tourists should always exercise a baseline amount of caution while abroad. As a metropolitan city, Cabo does experience some crime, but tourists seldom experience it or are targeted while vacationing. The low crime rate of Cabo and the safety precautions that the city has taken to secure both residents and tourists is a big reason why it sees so many travelers per year. Tourism is so popular that officials have extensively invested in making it a safe haven for travelers of all kinds. As a general rule of thumb, while traveling abroad, travelers should stay alert while out in both crowded or more remote areas. This practice helps minimize the chances of travelers being targeted or put into dangerous situations. Travelers should also avoid being out alone at night. Although English is commonly spoken in Cabo, it may be beneficial to learn the local language and learn a few common Spanish phrases. Being fluent in Spanish is not a requirement to enjoy a trip to Cabo but it may enrich the experience and help with navigating the area. Swimming safety is important on Cabo beaches. This area has some strong waters that can be overwhelming. With occasional strong undertow, riptides and waves, Cabo San Lucas is a place even avid swimmers should be cautious about. The beach at Hyatt Ziva is unswimmable. Cabo is known for their very strong Rip Tides.
You do not have to leave the resort unless you really want to. That is the best part about of an all inclusive resort, and one of the main reasons we chose one! Hyatt Ziva has many different restaurants, bars, and entertainment that you can enjoy. On our last visit to Cabo we only left the resort once, and it was to pick a Rehearsal Dinner venue. However, if you feel comfortable doing so we would highly reccomend going to downtown San Jose. It is such a cool art town with tons of bars, shops and restaurants. If you go on Thursday they have an art festival that is super fun! San Jose is only 2 miles away from the resort, and you can uber or walk!
No! However, please make sure you have your transportation pre booked for to and from the airport. We have used Cabo Airport Shuttle in the past and it was great! Ubers are tough to get at the airport. Other than airport transportation, the hotel can help with getting cars for going anywhere and we have used Uber easily in the past!
We had zero complaints when we visited this resort and loved every min of our trip. As with any vacation or hotel stay, sometimes things aren’t perfect. Please refrain from complaining to the bride and groom before or during your trip. We have spent the past year trying to make this wedding week perfect for everyone. Any complaints can be sent to the hotel concierge. Thank you!
