Marty and Chase were living their single lives in NYC in late February of 2020 when, out of the blue, mutual friends/family asked them if they’d like to be set up (major shout out to Jaclyn FitzPatrick and Marissa Dangovian, matchmakers extraordinaire!). Their first date was scheduled a week away when all of a sudden there was breaking news: This foreign thing called “COVID-19” had struck – and much to the dismay of the mother of the now bride-to-be, dating for her oldest child and only daughter was off the table in light of this global pandemic. Chase wisely chose to leave the City for his parents’ home in Lyme, CT, while Marty stubbornly decided to stay put in her cozy (small) NYC apartment. Chase offered up a FaceTime substitution for their first date in light of the COVID lockdown (he was ahead of his time!). Marty thought she'd present better in-person and suggested they “wait a few weeks for COVID to pass". … Two weeks into mandatory shelter-in-place, with no end in sight, Chase reached out to see how Marty was doing. Marty promptly responded, “How about that FaceTime?”. And so began the epic love story of how Marty fell in love with a grown man living in his parents’ basement. After three months of long-distance courting, Marty and Chase finally met in person, and they’ve been attached at the hip ever since! They will leave you on that note and will save the rest of their material for Santa Barbara where they can’t wait to celebrate with you when they tie the knot this February!
