Get here very early if you want to see the cheetah races (Joey's favorite).
The OG Stone Brewing location. If you have time, their brewery tour is 100% worth it - their beer garden serves great food too!
One of the many wineries in the Escondido area. We like it here for the views - reservations are recommended for groups over 6, or anytime live music is scheduled (check their site for details).
Another preserve full of hiking trails and stunning views. Remember your water - it's extremely dry in October!
Lots of hiking options available here - take the trail to Dixon Lake for water views.
This is where most of San Diego's microbreweries reside. Our favorites include Alesmith and Ballast Point for atmosphere, and Society Brewing for our favorite beers. The neighborhood is industrial, so if you'd like views along with your brews, keep scrolling.
One of our early dates was hiking around this area with Joey's pup, Bella. It's a great option if you want hiking and ocean views - be sure to drive up Sunset Cliffs Blvd. for the full effect!
Eppig Brewing is right on the harbor - enjoy your beers waterfront, then talk a walk around Shelter Island.
One of our favorite beaches (and where our engagement photos were taken).
If you want to extend your visit with a beach vacation, we recommend staying bayside in family-friendly Mission Beach. There's plenty of AirBnB's, and the ocean is just across the street!
