It began freshman year on the first day of school at Roger Williams University in 2013. It was an 8:00 am Algebra class. They didn't sit next to one another. They did not even comprehend that one another was in the same room. The two of them showed up groggy and ready to suffer through a math class that had no business being that early! Nicholas and Lauren may not have known at that exact moment, but they were about to meet their soulmates. The pair became fast friends through all the late nights in Studio, the design class of architecture school. Late nights consisted of streaming hockey games and joking around with friends about how confusing and vague our assignments seemed to be. Nicholas and Lauren were good friends through out freshmen year. It wasn't until sophomore year that flirting began. Nicholas would walk Lauren back to her dorm room almost every night, as he lived down the hall from her. They helped one another with homework and shared the stress of deadlines. The two laugh when they think about their first date, which consisted of Wii Mario Kart and pizza. Yes, Nicholas won every round! In November 2014, Nicholas asked Lauren to be his girlfriend with a handmade "rose" bouquet made out of red leaves. On one of the many walks they shared, Lauren mentioned that bright red leaves on trees was her favorite part about the fall. Nicholas found the time between classes to gather all these leaves to create a bouquet in hopes she will say yes, and of course, she did! Nearly 10 years later, Nicholas and Lauren are preparing for their wedding in September 2024. The pair are just as in separable now as they were when they started dating. They live together. They work together. They even play games together, just like they did all those years ago. They call one another their "bestie for the restie," or in layman's terms, best friends for the rest of their lives. Nicholas and Lauren share MANY memories together. Studying abroad in Barcelona and traveling through Europe in 2016. Graduating with a Masters Degree in Architecture from Roger Williams in December 2018. Moving to New York and getting first-time jobs at the beginning of 2019. Getting engaged at the edge of a cliff in Sedona, Arizona in 2021. Then, they finally bought their townhouse in the fall of 2022. Those are just a few of the highlights. The past 10 years of their relationship have demonstrated time and time again that through love and support, they can accomplish anything. Nicholas and Lauren are so excited to start the next chapter of their lives and are beyond excited to celebrate with all their loved ones!
