We're glad you asked! The Catholic Church believes that marriage, also known as the sacrament of matrimony, is a sacred covenant between the couple and God, and because we believe that God is present in the physical church, there is no other place to celebrate a blessed union. Therefore, our ceremony will take place at a Catholic Church in the area - one we are blessed enough to attend most Sundays! It will consist of an entire mass, plus the marriage vows and ring ceremony. It will last approximately one hour.(Don't worry, we will be sure to provide detailed programs, so you know what's going on!)
The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal attire. Ladies are welcome to wear floor-length gowns or cocktail dresses, and the gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat.
We recommend that you arrive 20-30 min before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the everything started as scheduled! Feel free to take this time to enjoy some beautiful music and say a quick prayer for the couple - we would be forever grateful!
Cold! We definitely recommend bringing a coat or jacket of some sort. An umbrella wouldn't hurt, either, in case of rain.
There is free parking at the church. Parking lots are located behind the church. For the reception: There is limited street parking on Charlotte Avenue as well as a free parking lot across the street at Richland Park. We recommend taking an Uber or Lyft from your hotel to the reception if you plan to drink!
YES! We love children, and would love to share the day with yours. We also totally understand if you'd rather leave them with a sitter for a night of dancing and celebrating. This is completely up to you!
