Question

How does a Catholic wedding differ from any other wedding ceremony? What can I expect?

Answer

We're glad you asked! The Catholic Church believes that marriage, also known as the sacrament of matrimony, is a sacred covenant between the couple and God, and because we believe that God is present in the physical church, there is no other place to celebrate a blessed union. Therefore, our ceremony will take place at a Catholic Church in the area - one we are blessed enough to attend most Sundays! It will consist of an entire mass, plus the marriage vows and ring ceremony. It will last approximately one hour.(Don't worry, we will be sure to provide detailed programs, so you know what's going on!)

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal attire. Ladies are welcome to wear floor-length gowns or cocktail dresses, and the gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive 20-30 min before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the everything started as scheduled! Feel free to take this time to enjoy some beautiful music and say a quick prayer for the couple - we would be forever grateful!

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

Cold! We definitely recommend bringing a coat or jacket of some sort. An umbrella wouldn't hurt, either, in case of rain.

Question

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

There is free parking at the church. Parking lots are located behind the church. For the reception: There is limited street parking on Charlotte Avenue as well as a free parking lot across the street at Richland Park. We recommend taking an Uber or Lyft from your hotel to the reception if you plan to drink!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

YES! We love children, and would love to share the day with yours. We also totally understand if you'd rather leave them with a sitter for a night of dancing and celebrating. This is completely up to you!

Question

Will face masks be required?

Answer

No. We will be following local/state guidelines. Neither the State of Tennessee nor the city of Nashville/Davidson County currently have a mask mandate in place. Therefore, masks will be completely optional at both ceremony and reception.

Question

Will proof of vaccination be required to attend?

Answer

No. We will be following local/state guidelines. Neither the State of Tennessee nor the city of Nashville/Davidson County currently have a vaccine mandate in place. All guests, regardless of vaccination status, are welcome to attend.

Question

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.
