Michelle and Justin met in Boston during the summer of 2017 following Michelle's first year at Boston University School of Social Work and Justin's move back to Boston to pursue his career as an audio engineer. Their first date serves as a fun personal anecdote – a memorable first encounter at the Hynes Convention Center T stop, inflated conversation, and an unexpected chase down Newbury Street as Justin tested Michelle’s perfect pitch abilities left Michelle feeling skeptical of a second date! It was the next date as Justin spoke about his love of his hometown of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, psychedelic freak-folk band, and drive to better the audio engineering field that reeled Michelle in. As they drove along the New Hampshire coast line for the first time while listening to Nick Drake's "Pink Moon", they knew that they had found each other. The following five years could not have been livelier as the two built their careers in Boston while cultivating experiences in Portsmouth with their close friends and family, Justin's band, and their dog, Banjo. Michelle and Justin got engaged on December 17, 2022. Justin, with the help of close friends, Nicholas and Veronica Conley, coordinated a surprise trip to Sedona, Arizona to propose to Michelle in front of her late grandfather’s airplane. Justin spent months planning the proposal with the current owners of the airplane, created a believable, false story about a work opportunity, and diverted in the moment when Michelle blew Justin’s cover at the Sedona airfield! Michelle and Justin will be married in Pittsburgh, Michelle's favorite city and most cherished place. Michelle has always wanted to get married in Pittsburgh just like her parents, aunts and uncles, cousins, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Michelle will be the fourth generation in her family to do so! Michelle and Justin are thrilled to celebrate their upcoming marriage with you!
