It started online with a swift swipe of a thumb, who knew after that swipe we would be done. Our first date was simple with pizza and drinks, the second date was more intense where Jill met all Mark's friends. One Scottish boy locked out who joined our date, one cousin driving past beeping his horn and finally his flat mate. After this Mark knew it would be hard to secure a third date. However, as the next weekend was nearin', Mark pulled out two tickets to Ed Sheeran. Jill's sister was over but stayed with her cousin, Jill got to sing 'Galway Girl' she was literally buzzin. Just when Jill had begun to like having Mark around, he went to Brazil for two weeks. The time apart made Mark realise his time as a single man had come to an end. When he came home he took her to the Lake District and asked her to be his girlfriend. A year later, Mark broke his flat mate's heart but he had a good deal on a flat from his Uncle Neil. Covid was tough but we got our dream house. Up to now it's been love and good fun, with a wedding to come the story has only just begun.
With permission from Jill's father, ring delivered (thrown over the garden fence), Mark flew to N.Ireland with a plan in his head. Jill was already at the caravan waiting for Mark to arrive on the Friday evening and he had been calling to make sure that it was still not raining at the Port. When he arrived at the caravan, Jill was sitting in her pajamas with no make-up and with her friend Dawn. She seemed ready for a relaxing evening. With a bad weather forecast for the full weekend, Mark knew he had to propose that night and get Jill dressed and down by the seaside while subtly getting her friend to leave, which was not helped by Jill asking Dawn if she wanted to stay the night. Luckily, Dawn was ready to go home. Eventually, Mark got Jill out the door in a pair of jeans and a jumper. Although, she was far from happy and complained the whole way down to the seaside about having to go for a walk/drink when she had been all relaxed. When Jill eventually gave it a rest and there was no-one around, Mark got down on one knee and Jill started crying and continued to cry until Mark had to actually ask, 'It is a YES, isn't it?'
