We attended the same high school at the same time. For 3 years we walked the same hallways and ate in the same cafeteria, but did not know each other. Only for us to meet 4 years after high school on Facebook. It started with a status game. Rohan liked a post of mine and I had to message him something I honestly thought about him but before doing so I went to his page because it was a stranger liking my status. I decided to browse through his page. I then read in his bio that we attended the same high school, I looked through his photos and decided to send him a message simply saying “TBH I think you’re cute.” To which he replied “Thankyou, your compliment is greatly appreciated.” We ended up messaging back and forth about any and everything from favorite colors to future goals/dreams. For an entire week, he messaged me. I was smiling on the outside but screaming on the inside, wondering when was he going to ask me for my number. And then after what felt like forever, he finally asked for it on New Year’s eve day. That same night he asked me out and I accepted. We decided to meet at a TGI Fridays. I will admit I was over 30 minutes late for our first date, which he loves to remind me of. I was nervous, You would think my biggest fear of all this was the fact that I was meeting someone off of social media but it wasn’t. I was afraid that when I walked into the restaurant that everyone around would know I’m there to meet a guy off the Internet. So I took a couple moments outside the restaurant debating on whether or not to go in. I finally built up the courage and walked inside, instantly we locked eyes, he stood up as I approach the table and greeted me with a handshake. I don’t recall much of our conversation that night but I do remember the strong connection we had. At the end of the date he walked me to my car but we just did not want to leave each other we stood in that parking lot for hours talking, laughing, smiling, and unknowingly falling in love.
