WELCOME TO OUR ADVENTURE

Hinge brought them together. They met at DC's Union Market and had ramen that quickly got cold as they talked and laughed for hours on end. Three weeks later, Kelley invited Marissa to meet her in Niagara Falls on the last leg of her US/Canada road trip. On the morning of their rendezvous, Kelley started her 12-hour drive from Milwaukee at 3am, while Marissa flew to Buffalo, rode two buses, and walked across the border to their Airbnb. They arrived within five minutes of each other. They fell in love and never looked back.

Marissa and Kelley took a road trip to their 10th national park, Congaree National Park, in South Carolina, with their friend Deidre. They were hiking on the Weston Lake Trail when they stopped to check out some gators swimming in the lake below the raised walkway. Once Kelley was distracted by the gators, Marissa gave the signal to Deidre to start recording. Marissa got down on her knee, gave a heartfelt proposal, and awaited Kelley's answer. Kelley, all smiles and at a loss for words, responded "yeah."

Even before meeting each other, Kelley and Marissa were quite the wanderlust travelers! Kelley lived in Costa Rica and Nicaragua while Marissa visited 53 countries. Both have enjoyed exploring the United States: Kelley has visited 40 states and Marissa is eager to cross the last two (Alaska and North Dakota) off her list. Together, Kelley and Marissa have explored Canada, 16 states, and 11 national parks. It should come as no surprise that they're excited to start their new life in Tijuana, Mexico next year! ¡Vamos!
