Marissa and Eddy met in 2017 at athenahealth while both working on the same team. Corey won Eddys heart first, but Marissa followed soon after and after going on their "non-date" first date, they were inseparable.

Eddy surprised Marissa by bringing her on April 30th to get a puppy. The next day on May 1 during their very first hike with their new family member, alongside Corey and Lily, Eddy asked Marissa if she would marry him. Before even giving him a chance to slide the ring on her finger, she grabbed it and put it on herself, overjoyed and excited to marry her best friend. Don't worry, they redid this and Eddy got the chance to put the ring on her finger himself.
