On December 15, 2018, only a few months after moving back to Lebanon from Jordan, I (Hannah) attended a Christmas concert with some friends. I've always joked about wanting to marry a Lebanese man, so when they announced the guest speaker for the evening was none other than "Mr. Lebanon" himself, my friend turned to me and whispered "I think we just found your husband." My friend-turned-wingman, Matthew, came up with a plan, and invited Mario to head downtown with a group of our friends that night. We chatted while everyone not-so-inconspicuously kept their eyes on us; the whole time, thinking I would never see him again. A few weeks later, he took me out for coffee. And exactly two years after that, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
