Our story begins back in 2017 through two of our close friends, Kit and Alicia, who had recently started dating at the time. Evan & Kit were friends from college at TCU and Christina & Alicia were college roommates at OU. We would see each other a couple times a year at their birthdays and various get togethers, but were acquaintances at best. All until St. Patrick's Day of 2019. Maybe it was the luck of the Irish, maybe it was too many moscow mules at the Skellig, but for whatever reason, we hit it off that day and started to catch each other’s attention. A couple months later we went out on our first official date to Gung Ho off lower Greenville, which is now called Fortune House. In the early days, we would hang out in the area often & frequent Laurel Tavern, sitting at the bar having many late night chats and laughs. By the summer we were dating. The rest is history!
The plan for the night was to go on a date night with Evan's step sister Christina and her husband Greg who had just moved into a new house. We were going to see their new place and then go out for dinner that evening. However, on the drive over, Evan mentioned that they were running a little late because they were picking up their kids at their neighborhood pool near Prather Park. They told us just to meet them there and then we would walk over to their house together. When we got to the park, instead of being greeted by Evan's family, we were approached by a photographer who said she was about to do a photoshoot and needed our "help" to check the lighting on her camera. That was Evan's cue to get down on one knee. It was a perfect moment. Afterwards, we headed to Smoky Rose to celebrate! Little did Christina know, both of our families were waiting there to surprise us. Seeing all of our siblings and parents together for the first time, cheering us on was one of the best memories of our lives. Another perfect moment! We want to recognize & thank our family & friends for supporting our relationship & helping us get to this point. You all have played a huge role in our lives, not only helping shape who we are together, but as individuals. This ultimately led to us finding each other and we cannot be more grateful. We love you and can't wait to celebrate our wedding and marriage with you in September!
