We had actually been living in neighboring buildings for a year prior to this, but covid had us staying inside. On August 18th 2021 I had just gotten back to Utah for the upcoming school year. My roommate (@SophieDimmick) invited me to come along to the reception of some people from church. I didn't know the couple too well but I went along. At the reception, Sophie introduced me to a bunch of neighbors with whom she had been hanging out and playing sports over the summer. They were a fun bunch. Justin caught my attention for his humor and personality. He even tried my suggested concoction of m&m's swirled in milk life cereal. I remember thinking that whoever Justin was interested in would be lucky to have such a fun person in their life.

The first time I met Marin was at a friend’s reception. While there, she told me to put M&M’s in my cup of milk and mix them around. Even though we had apparently lived next to each other for a year I had never recalled seeing her before. After the reception I saw her more frequently, but we didn’t interact too much. When my friend Noah got a girlfriend I started to go over to her apartment more often. When I would go over Marin would always offer treats and I started to get to know her better. Then everything changed on one fateful night when she offered to give me a pedicure. Growing up I was always known to have odd looking feet and any girl that would be willing to get within five feet of them must be the one for me. After that I started to make excuses to spend more time with her. One thing that connected us was our love for weird claymation movies. One Monday I got the text “When is Chicken Run o’clock?” and my heart melted. After that our relationship began to accelerate and I was having the time of my life. Eventually our friend Caitrin pronounced our relationship official and the rest is history. She brings me happiness that I have never experienced before and I'm excited to see what the future holds for us.
