We met at Stuyvesant High School circa 2005. Sean was a senior and Marina, a junior. We danced together on Stuy Squad, Stuyvesant's hip-hop dance company, and had a lot of mutual friends. Fun fact: we rode in the same limo to Sean's senior prom, albeit with different dates! We became friends that summer, mostly as email/gchat pen-pals while working our very intense summer jobs (#sarcasm). Our friendship continued to deepen in college, with Sean at Carnegie Mellon and Marina at Georgetown. We spent late nights gchatting each other and sharing our favorite Ne-Yo songs over email. During school breaks, we'd hang out while back in NYC. A favorite memory is ice-skating in Wollman Rink - the one where Sean helped Marina tie her skates, acted as her shoulder to lean on, and proposed marriage... on Facebook. (It's true! We stayed married to each other on Facebook for an oddly long time.) We remained friends throughout college, but towards the end of 2008, something started to shift (at least for Marina... Sean's been in love since day one). We took our first trip together in 2009 - spring break with friends in the Bahamas. We enjoyed $7 footlongs, the beach, and of course, lots of dancing. We both moved back to NYC after college, and reconnected in 2012, deciding to try out this whole dating each other thing. We haven't been able to shake each other since then (although we tried for a year). Since then, we've gone to parties, moved homes, taken many a road-trip, hung out with each other's families, celebrated New Year's in New Orleans... Our love for travel and adventure was heightened during Marina's Remote Year - Sean traveled to 3 continents over the course of the year to meet Marina. We haven't stopped since, with trips to Mexico, Florida, Colorado, the Pacific Northwest, and Savannah/Hilton Head. We now live in Sunnyside, Queens with our firstborn fur-baby, Nala.
