Met this wonderful woman through mutual friends at St. Mary's Catholic Church in College Station during my time in grad school at A&M. She has been a non-stop spiritual support for me! We grew even closer as we prayed for each other while trying to figure out our futures. We don't see each other often, but we make an effort to stay in touch, share life updates, and prayers with one another. She is a true Godsend for me!

Fam who is not fam, though we share a last name! Denise helped me get through grad school as the only other Latina, and first generation Mexican-American from the 956. We bonded over shared experiences, trying to voice the public health struggles of the Hispanic community, and navigate what our futures would be like in public health. I could not have gotten through grad school without her! (#ppp)

I had the pleasure of being introduced to Marisela while living at "The Ranch" in College Station. From acquaintances to friends, I got to know Marisela even better when I moved to Austin. We would have coffee dates at Starbuck or 360 Uno while we studied and chatted. She even got to witness Dylan proposing to me!

My "homes" as we like to call each other. Her mom and my mom our bffs so it came as no surprise that we did too! We met while I was an undergrad and involved with the Brother's of St. John in Laredo. Our friendship grew when we both went to A&M and started going to St. Mary's. An now we homes for life!

One of my dearest and oldest friends, we met while both in the Health Sciences Magnet Program at Alexander High School. From high school we spent many sleepless nights studying for various classes together as we were both pre-med majors. Meli stuck through it, and is now an MD! While I did not, she was one of the people that helped me realize there is more than one way to serve others- and, that public health was my true calling!

Another J.B. Alexander Health Science Magnet alum who is now a Pharm D! Nathalie is my oldest childhood friend whom I have known since middle school. I remember being introduced by another friend at the time. They mentioned she was French-Canadian and didn't talk much. In that moment I wanted to know everything about her! I made it my mission to talk to her, and make her my best-friend. I'm so glad I did because we have been besties ever since!

My roommate throughout Pharmacy School (he’s a PharmD as well) and husband to the Matron of Honor. We’re both from Beaumont and have basically gone to the same schools all our lives. Josh and I have become great friends over the years through our mutual interest in guitars and music. I got to know Maria Andrea through hanging out with him and his now wife Marina.

I met Joe in college at an Aggie Awakening. We realized we had some mutual friends and have been friends ever since. We bonded through our weekly Friday baseball sessions, taking a couple classes together, going to Astros games, and hanging out at St. Mary’s.

I met Will when Joe brought him to one of our Friday baseball sessions in college. We bonded over the years by staffing Aggie Awakening together, weekly movie nights with friends, and summer days hanging out by apartment complex pools. I had the honor to be one of his groomsmen when he married his wife Kayla and for his bachelor party we went dove hunting for my first time.

I met Matt at, you guessed it, Aggie Awakening. We served on an Awakening leadership together and have been friends ever since. We bonded by hanging out with our late night Tio’s taco crew, exploring downtown Bryan, and our shared interest in healthcare. Now Matt is doing his medical residency up in Amarillo, TX.

I’ve been friends with Enrique since meeting him back in 1st grade during cub scouts. We did boy scouts together and eventually we ended up being Roommates at Texas A&M. We went to countless Aggie football games and tailgates together as well as hanging out with the rest of the crew. Enrique moved back to Southeast Texas after college and is a mechanical engineer.

I got to know Mario through Aggie Awakening as well. We bonded over our shared love for Kendrick Lamar’s music and late night tacos at El Tíos. Mario and I have remained great friends over the years and I had the honor of being the best man at his wedding.

I met Kyle when Josh invited him over to play baseball one Summer in college. He’s been a great friend ever since and there is never a dull moment around Kyle. He was one of the first friends I made at St. Mary’s and was a big part of my involvement in that community.
