Pensacola (PNS) and Panama City (ECP) are the two major airports closest to our venue! They are each about ~1 hour away from Destin/Fort Walton. These might be the easiest to fly into, although Fort Walton Beach/Destin also has its own small airport (VPS) which is about 15-20 minutes from downtown and the beaches. To see which airlines offer flight options to/from VPS and to which cities, go here: https://flyvps.com/route-map-3/ Once you have arrived, the airport has several different ground transportation options including car rentals, buses, vans, shuttles, taxis, and limousines.

Travel Note
Public transportations are cheap and fast; hence it is the most efficient way of transportation. EC Rider buses have a regular fare of $1.50. The buses travel throughout the city and stop at Fort Walton Beach, Destin, and Okaloosa Island. OCT (Okaloosa County Transit) bus services provides public transportation throughout the City and surrounding communities. Five transit routes conveniently intersect the City including a transfer station located at uptown station on SR 85, which connects to transit routes between surrounding communities. Stops along these routes include popular shopping destinations such as uptown station, midtown and downtown Fort Walton Beach, as well as stops at educational institutions and medical centers such as Northwest Florida State College, Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and the White Wilson Medical Center. For more information on public transportation, visit Ride OCT.
Travel Note
Electric bike rentals are provided by companies like Bob’s bicycle, which could be a different way to explore the city.

Check out the website for a ton of options! There's also Uber and Lyft available but per travel websites tend to be on the more expensive side. We used Lyft/Uber to get around because not all the taxi drivers were wearing masks during our trip in January.
