We're getting married!

We met at a party during our junior year of college at San Diego State. Marcus walked me home that night, gave me a hug goodbye, and famously did not ask for my phone number. A few days later, I asked a mutual friend to give Marcus my phone number, and we have been chatting ever since. We were at the end of our senior year of college in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and forced us to quarantine together for our last few months of college. This was a scary time, but it also showed us that we really did like spending time with each other. That summer, after we graduated, we moved to Santa Cruz together so that I could pursue my Master's degree. In the summer of 2023, we moved to Redondo Beach for Marcus to pursue a new career opportunity. During our 5 years together, we have learned that we really love to spend time outdoors hiking, backpacking, and exploring. We have visited 19 National Parks, with plans to visit more this year. Marcus proposed while we were on a hike in Joshua Tree National Park two days after our 5 year anniversary.
