Question

What is the structure of the wedding?

Answer

A wedding in Italy flows a bit differently than a traditional US wedding. As you arrive at the wedding venue you will be greeted near the entrance to the Villa with an Aperitif, a refreshing cocktail (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options) to welcome you to the event. Shortly before the ceremony begins, guests will be escorted to the ceremony area of the gardens. After the ceremony, guests and the bridal party will move to a cocktail hour located on a terrace in another area on the grounds of the gardens. At the conclusion of cocktail hour, guests will be escorted to the Villa for a sit-down dinner. Finally, guests will move back to the garden area to end the evening with music, dancing and desserts under the stars, concluding around 2 am.

Question

How do I get to the wedding venue?

Answer

The event venue cannot be reached by car. In fact, cars are not permitted anywhere in the town of Ravello! The wedding venue is located about a 15 minute walk from the town square. The path to the venue has some stairs and inclines, and a few signs to lead the way. Don’t worry though -- we will have staff to help guide guests to the venue and we will even provide slip on flats for women who may be worried about walking in heels! Finally, there is limited ability for a shuttle to take guests with mobility issues up the hill. If you believe you may need help, please contact us and we can arrange transportation for you.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The wedding ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors on a grassy area. The dinner will be in a covered area in the Villa. The reception/party following dinner will be back outside under the stars.

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

The wedding is black tie and formal. Women should be in long gowns and men in tuxedos. Since the wedding ceremony and reception will be outdoors, we recommend women consider wearing shoes that will be comfortable on the grass and bring a pashmina or light sweater, as it can be cool in the evening after sunset.

Question

What is the dress code for the other weekend events?

Answer

For the welcome dinner, the dress code is smart casual. Men should wear jacket and slacks (no tie), and women should wear a summery cocktail or midi dress. For brunch, the dress code is Sunday casual. Men can wear a polo and shorts or pants and women can wear a casual sundress or skirt.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids with a sitter so you can celebrate with us.

Question

Who should I contact with questions during the wedding weekend?

Answer

For questions during the weekend of our wedding, we would appreciate it if you contact our wedding planner, Sonia Gallina (sonia@weddingitaly.com) with any questions.

Question

What is the weather in Ravello like?

Answer

Ravello in June is very pleasant and warm with temperatures ranging from 84°F to 74°F. During the heat of the afternoon, it can be hot (and sometimes humid) but it cools off nicely during the evening. Ravello usually has a slight, refreshing breeze due to its location in the mountains.

Question

Will there be updates closer to the wedding?

Answer

We will be keeping everyone updated via email as the wedding gets closer. Expect updates from us regarding transportation and event details in the early spring. If you have any questions before then please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
