The Ceremony ends at 3 but the cocktail hour doesn't begin until 5pm, what should I do in the meantime?

Where can I park for the Ceremony and Reception?
Answer
For the Ceremony, the Basilica has gravel parking right outside the church. For the Reception, please use the parking pass included in the invitation to gain access to the garage adjacent to the Gem Theatre. Downtown Detroit has many parking garage options for downtime, as well as plenty of Ubers available.

How long can we stay at the Ceremony Venue?
Answer
We have reserved the Church until 3:30pm, so please leave promptly by 3:30 for the next event.

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
Answer
We do not have a strict dress code per se, so please feel free to dress in whatever makes you most comfortable, and any wear, from sundressess to formal gowns, from collared shirt and khakis to a full tuxedo, are welcome!

What will the weather be like this time of year?
Answer
The weather should be warm and sunny as it will be in the height of summer, so please plan accordingly!

What should I do if I am unable to make the ceremony but am available for the reception?
Answer
The Ceremony will have open seating so there is no need to RSVP for it. As for the Reception, please RSVP at the tab marked "RSVP" above and even if you can't make the reception, please indicate on the RSVP that you will be unable to attend.

Are kids welcome?
Answer
While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Can I bring a plus one even if my RSVP form does not indicate it?
Answer
We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.
Question
When is the RSVP Deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?
Answer
The deadline to RSVP is July 10, 2023. We have an online RSVP only, so please do so by clicking on the RSVP tab above and search for you or a member of your party's name EXACTLY as it is written on your invitation envelope. Even if you are unable to attend, please RSVP no so we can get an accurate guest count. Thanks!

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media
Answer
Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #LawfullyLewis so we can keep track of all of your pictures!

What do I do if I need to book a hotel room?
Answer
We have not reserved a hotel block for the wedding, however, there are numerous hotels in and around downtown Detroit. We recommend the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel as it is the closest to the reception.
