Flight
The closest airport to Tulum is Cancun International Airport. Tulum is located 120 kilometers away from the airport (74 miles for us USA folks). This is roughly a 1.5-hour drive from the airport.
Rental Car
RECOMMENDED TRANSPORTATION - We recommend arranging a private pick or official taxi prior to landing in Cancun. Please see the link below for the Official Cancun Airport Shuttle website. RENTAL CARS Renting a car is not recommended in Mexico. RIDESHARE Although rideshare is now available, using this service is not recommended.
Travel Note
Local Currency - Mexican Peso Most major hotels and restaurants in Tulum accept credit or debit card however, it is recommended to travel with a small amount of local currency. Plugs - Type A & Type B Outlets in Mexico generally use the same plug type as the United States. Check with your hotel or Airbnb to confirm you do not need a voltage converter.
